Ghost Tee – A Man Cannot Survive On Bourbon Alone He Also Needs A Cat Shirt

 While I hadn’t trusted Jerry in the early days of his arrival, I reminded myself that he was now the man who had been in that rehearsal room for the past week. He was a real artist and he was talking to me like I was one too. And so later that day, I climbed the stairs to the top floor.

I knocked, and when he invited me in, I found him sitting in one of the dorm chairs by his computer. He asked me to come over so he could show me what was on the screen. We watched a video, I don’t remember exactly what or why. He was playful, flippant, asking me questions. It was a fast-paced patter, jokes interspersed with jokes, compliments that tumbled into irony and then out again. And then eventually, almost inevitably, he was telling me to kiss him. And somehow I hadn’t seen it coming, which I couldn’t figure out—he had segued so easily, he had seen this moment miles away and steered toward it; how had I not seen it coming too?
